The Tempest is a play written by William Shakespeare between the years of 1610 and 1611. Set on a remote island, Prospero (the exiled Duke of Milan) plots to restore Miranda, his daughter, to her correct place. A tempest carries Prospero’s usurping brother Antonio and his accomplice Alonso (the King of Naples) to the island. On the island, the activities of Prospero bring about the redemption of Alonso, the revelation of Antonio’s low nature, and the marriage of Miranda and Ferdinand, Alonso’s son. I wonder if he used flower delivery birmingham for the wedding flowers?

The Tempest differs from Shakespeare’s other plays in its strict adherence to an organised neoclassical style. The Tempest is explicitly concerned with its own nature as a play’; there are frequent links between theatrical illusions and Prospero’s “art”. Indeed many early critics saw Prospero as a representation of Shakespeare. Portrayed as rational magician who practices beautiful and wonderful magic, Prospero is contrasted to Sycorax, an occultist witch whose magic is portrayed often as destructive.
